New Student Application – Academic Reference

The Canadian Sport Institute has created the Canadian Sport School program to help alleviate the pressures of managing the time commitments and the demands of being a student and a teenager along with the expectations of being a high performance athlete striving for excellence. The Canadian Sport School program ensures that our future Olympians, Paralympians and National Team athletes have all the skills and resources needed to continue to progress as high performance athletes, while excelling both on the playing field and in the classroom. The Canadian Sport School provides an opportunity for secondary school athletes to spend half of their day at their regular high school taking required core academic courses, and half their day with the Canadian Sport School where they earn academic credit for Physical Training, Independent Study Blocks and Sport Performance Seminars.

Dear Teachers,

Your confidential academic reference will serve as a tool for our application/admission process to determine both the quality of the applicant and the type/level of support they require. We encourage you to be honest and open in this process as the information you share will remain confidential between the Canadian Sport School staff and yourself, it will not be shared with the student or their parents.
